Stardate 76422.17 | 9/25/2401
Rojar System, Delta Quadrant – Rojar 861-III
Mission Summary:
Alpha Shift continued exploration of Rojar 861-III under extreme environmental conditions. The planet’s atmosphere remained hostile and psychologically taxing. During surface reconnaissance, the away team encountered zombie-like lifeforms, successfully neutralized initially using modified Phaser Mk 71 rifles.
A discovered shelter led to underground sewer tunnels, where more resilient and aggressive variants were encountered. LT Turbo sustained significant damage while holding the line, enabling the team—LT Riverleaf, LT Carrick, and myself—to extract him. LT Jonathan’s overwatch provide overwatch to make sure the zombies didnt get in the shelter. Overwhelming numbers and confined conditions forced a beam-out to the Gallant.
Comms interference during the engagement left the team isolated from LT Stardust’s science team, complicating coordination. All personnel returned safely and were evaluated in sickbay.
Observations:
Underground variants are stronger and more durable than surface threats.
Planetary conditions impose notable psychological stress on crew.
Comms instability is a significant operational risk.
Recommendations:
Improved weapons to handle swarms.
Deploy drones or probes before entering confined areas.
Upgrade communications relays to ensure stability during missions.
